C-7 Caribou (KE-153) Recovery
Posted on March 8th, 2010 by admin
On Aug 21, 1969, my father, (Major Jerry J. Brown, Detachment Chief of Maintenance, OLAA 483 CAM Sq, Phu Cat AB, Vietnam, led a successful recovery operation of a battle damaged C-7 Caribou, coordinating support of an Army “Skycrane” helicopter. This video is a “taped” copy of a copy of the original 600 Camera Squadron’s combat camera coverage of the extraction. Aircraft was later successfully refurbished in Bangkok, Thailand.

Holy guacamole. My grandpa, is sitting here beside me watching ‘bou videos because he wants me to see one because it’s rather peculiar in my opinion, but he recognizes Jerry J. Brown as Crash Brown, busted off a rudder somewhere on a landing he says, but he says he WORKED on that plane, 463 he says, he said he helped recover it and ship it to Bangkok, Thailand to be send back to the US. Wow. That’s odd seeing a plane you once worked on on YouTube! Just me walking in his shoes.
