I’m looking for a small printer for my son to use when he prints off his photos from his new digital camera. I want a small printer not a combined printer/scanner/copier – which we already have – so he can keep it in his bedroom on his desk. I want him to be able to print off different sized photos – passport size for example so he can use them for school projects etc. One that has reasonable priced consumables would be helpful too. Please please any advice greatly appeciated. Thanks.
There are small printers that print only on 4×6 inch paper called "compact printers" like this one

The tend to be rather expensive ($150 and more) when compared to standard photo quality printers that can print from 8-1/2 x 11 to 4×6 inch prints like the Epson WorkForce 30 printer for under $70

I have an HP 475, it prints 4×6 and 5×7 paper. It has 1G memory, but it’s a couple of years old. I love it. It has a built in card reader too.
