Anyone good with fax machines and word?

My mother is trying to fax her resume, but when it reaches its destination, the header information (e.g. her name, address, phone number) is missing. Why would this be?
Okay, so the header information doesn’t disappear, it’s just a really light gray color. I checked the document and it appears that all text is in black. So I still don’t know why it’s not showing up as black.

Try to send it backwards (end of page first).
Most companies now will gladly accept word docs via e-mail as well.
