printer/copier has a big black line on side of the paper?

all of the sudden my printer/copier/fax machine prints out this huge black line on the side of the paper, how do i make this go away? It’s making it to where i can’t see the data printed!! help

What kind of machine Ink or Laser? If it is a laser change the toner cartridge. Does it make the line on copies? or prints? or both? Try running a cleaning cycle if it is a ink machine. Make sure the glass is clean if it makes lines when copying.

    If this is only happening when you copy, you might also want to look at the scanning glass to make sure that it is clean. Mine often has a spec on it that causes a page long line.
