my copy machine on my printer has suddenly started to print the copies with lines, such as they loose their ink in places and those inkless spots are a pattern of lines. does anyone know what causes this or how to fix it?

Knowing the make & model of your printer/copy machine could help with diagnosing your problem better.

Depending on the type of machine it is, inkjet or laser, will make a difference. If it’s an inkjet, you could have bad cartridges or printheads, or ink buildup on the mechanisms somewhere.

If you have a laser, it could the the drum, toner/drum cartridge, fuser, or dirty laser optics. Hard to say for sure without seeing the problem or the machine and what type it is.

Best of luck.

Put it on Freecycle or Craigslist. List it for free, and stipulate the person must come and pick it up – you will not deliver, nor help them load it onto their vehicle.

You probably need to download or install from the disk that came with the copy machine, the software package of drivers and applications that will allow that to work with your computer.

Best of luck.

you have to lift the cover to place the materials on the copy machine to photo copy it. but i usually dont feel like putting the cover down, especially if I’m making many copies. So is it true that being exposed to the lights will cause cancer or are dangerous to your body?
I ask because I did that today for about 35 minutes and afterwards I did not feel too good.

Have you had sex recently? If so, the laser from the machine makes sperm incredibly mobile and speedy. There have even been a few cases (in Canada) of women who where even on birth control and still got pregnant because of the copy laser.

I read an article that copy machines since 2002 now have hard drives that back up every single document that was scanned. While reading this, I wondered why would the manufacturer put a hard drive in there in the first place? What is the purpose of backing up scanned documents in a hard drive? To me, this is just rediculous because any thief can retrieve data from copy machines.
My question was, why would manufacturers put a hard drive in there in the first place? To me, that is just stupid because hard drives only add on to production costs. Wouldn’t it be ideal to use RAM instead of HDD since it’s cheaper?

It is true that digital copiers keep the images of copies on hard drives.

Here is a link to a CBS story that was run on the topic.

there are 2 copy machines to run the financial statements. Working together it takes 6 hours to complete the job. Working alone it takes the older machine 3 hours longer than the newer machine alone. How long would it take the new machine alone?

Together, they compete the job in 6 hrs.

But newer machine wil compete the job in t hrs
ie work done per hour = 1/t
where the older machine will compete it in 3t hrs.
ie work done per hour = 1/(3t)

Now 1/t + 1/(3t) = 1/6… as working together, 1/6th of the job is completed.
==> (3+1)/3t = 1/6
==> 4/3t = 1/6
==> t = 4*6/4 = 24/3hrs = 8hrs time taken by new machine.
